Wellbeing has become a ‘buzz word’ in work. Covid-19 gave rise to a much-needed discussion about wellbeing at work: what it means, how to enhance it and how to support their employees. In fact, in a large-scale global survey conducted in 2021 by the Harvard Business Review, it was found that 91% of respondents stated that a company’s culture should support mental health. This number has increased from 86% in 2019. The “Corporate wellness market is likely to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 6.9% to reach us$97.4 billion by 2027” says Deloitte. If wellbeing is not part of your business plan, this shows that it should be!
Taking care of employee wellbeing does not have to be hard. But it does have to be effective. This is where technology comes in.
Ear buds that analyse stress metrics and notify employees when they need to take a break. Programs that anonymise and analyse interactions to show when satisfaction decreases. Technologies like these and many more can support your company in its effort to increase wellbeing. But Deloitte emphasises “these are not the solution. They are the means to the solution”
