Why do humans run the world? A TED Talk.

Chances are, that reflections on why humans have become the most powerful species end with the simple answer of: intelligence.

But Yuval Noah Harari takes this discussion further.

What are the aspects of human intelligence responsible for our position of power?

In this TED Talk, he states that “the real difference between humans and so many other animals, is not on the individual, but on the collective level”. He explores how our collective intelligence enables us to cooperate both flexibly and in very large numbers. “If you think about it, all the huge achievements of man kind have, in fact, been based on exactly this human ability”.

And cooperation is not only physical. It also involves the exchange of ideas. Humans are the only species that live in a dual reality: we do not use our language only to describe the objective reality, but to invent fictional stories about the future that enable us to follow the same rules, the same norms, the same values.

This collective faith and investment in a story about our better futures, is what Metallaxis aims to create with you.
