IKEA, the world’s largest furniture store, is dedicated to have a positive impact and help to reach UN’s Sustainability Goals. And their new plan is proof of that.
IKEA has announced that it plans to start selling affordable renewable energy to households in Sweden: customers will be able to pay a monthly subscription fee to purchase energy that comes from solar and wind panels that have been built in the last five years. IKEA has also created a plan where homeowners can track their consumption and also sell back energy that they did not use, so that no energy or resources go to waste!
