Elon Musk promises $100M to the creator of the best carbon-capture technology.

In Elon Musk’s recent tweet, he states that he will donate 100M USD to whoever creates the best carbon-capture technology. Carbon capture technologies refer to “a chain of different technologies that can keep the carbon dioxide produced by major factories and power plants from reaching the atmosphere and contributing to global heating”, according to this post by The Guardian. In fact, they are a necessary step for meeting the targets set out in the Paris Climate Agreement. So far, there are three start-ups that “have crafted experimental contraptions” to remove CO2 out of thin air, according to this post by Bloomberg.
