AI is leading Retail’s Metallaxis

Futurist Peter Diamandis walks through a shopping day in 2029 with you. What does that look like? If you’re one of those people who goes to the mall with a small hope that you’ll find something you like, at a reasonable price and the perfect fit, only to leave with a few items at best… this post is for you!

“What’s coming in this retail era is astounding” says Diamandis.

And here’s a summary of his predictions. By 2029, shopping online will look completely different. Having scanned your body, you will put on your VR headset and enter any store (anywhere in the world) you’d like. You will be able to request a fashion show or a demonstration of your avatar wearing different outfits and choose what looks best… on you! After deciding what you like best, your AI will pay for the outfit. This will then be 3D printed (at your exact fit) and drone delivered in your house within the same day. Wondering what the cost of this personalised experience will be? According to Peter Diamandis, “less than half of what you pay in stores today”!

AI and retail will also make shopping and fast fashion… sustainable. Online, virtual stores means that mass production will be a thing of the past. Click below for more!

S&P Global Market Intelligence has now tallied over 49 bankruptcies in 2020, the highest in over a decade.
