João Carlos Martins, an internationally recognised Brazilian pianist, had lost the ability to move his fingers due to several injuries and accidents that he sustained throughout his career. Now, at the age of 80 and after 20 years of being unable to play the instrument he loved most, the musician is given a second chance thanks to this pair of bionic gloves. Designer Ubiratan Bizarro Costa developed this pair specifically for Martins, using the exoskeleton technology that has aided those with spinal injuries to walk again.
